Due to rising coronavirus cases in the country, the central government had extended the deadline for linking Aadhar card and PAN card. Earlier its deadline was 31 March, but now its last date has been extended to 30 June. This decision is a matter of relief for the people. However, now only less than a month is left for the two documents to be linked. If users fail to do so, a fine of Rs 1,000 will be levied and their PAN card is also going to be deactivated. How to link Aadhaar with PAN card online |
Once the PAN card is deactivated, anyone whose PAN card has been deactivated will not be able to do any kind of financial transaction. Aadhar card and PAN card number both are used for various important tasks. While the Aadhaar number is used for filing income tax returns, PAN is used for availing monetary benefits from government schemes such as LPG subsidy, scholarship and pension.
How to link PAN card with Aadhaar card
Although there are many ways for this, but we are going to tell you some of the easiest ways, now if the PAN card is not linked with your Aadhar card, then you have come to know that its last date is 30th June, now you have to check your Aadhaar before this time. What things are needed
For the linking process, you will need your Aadhar card, which is a 12-digit number. You will also need your PAN card, which is a 10-digit alphanumeric number. Your mobile number will also have to be linked with Aadhaar, as the OTP will be sent for authentication. Once you have all this, you can proceed to linking.
How to Link Aadhar Card and Pan Card Through SMS
You can send this message to either 567678 or 56161. However, this is possible only if your Aadhar card and PAN card are linked to the same mobile number. If this is not the case then you will not be able to link your Aadhar card with PAN card through SMS.
However, if you want to do this, then let us tell you that for this you have to write UIDPAN first in the message, after that you have to enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number here. After this you have to enter your 10 digit alphanumeric number i.e. PAN card number by giving a space. After this you can send this message to 567678 or 56161. You also have to take care of one thing here that you have to send this message from your registered mobile number only. As soon as this process is completed, after some time you will get a reply on the same message informing you that your Aadhaar number has been linked with your PAN number.
Linking through Income Tax Department website
For this, you have to first register yourself on the Income Tax website. However, you have to do this only if you are not registered. However, if you already have a login ID then you do not need to register yourself. You can login here using your ID password. Now the window which is going to open here is going to help you to link your Aadhar card with PAN card.
However, if you do not see this window, then you can easily go to Profile Settings and go to Link Aadhaar. After this you have to complete the on-screen instructions, and your Aadhaar card will be linked with your PAN card very easily. However, before this an OTP will come on your number which you will have to enter here. After this your Aadhar card is going to be linked with your PAN card.
