Windows 10S mode is a configuration designed to give you faster boot time, longer battery life, and better security. However, with Windows 10S, you cannot use some web browsers or download any apps that are not in the Microsoft Store.

Windows 10s mode is a version of Windows 10 that is streamlined for security and performance, providing a familiar Windows experience.

To increase security, it only allows apps from the Microsoft Store, and Microsoft Edge is required for safe browsing.

The major difference between Windows 10S and any other version of Windows 10 is that 10S can only run applications downloaded from the Windows Store.

Every other version of Windows 10 has the option to install applications from third-party sites and stores, as most versions of Windows before it.

Should i keep windows 10s mode?

There are several good reasons to put a Windows 10 PC in S mode, including: It is more secure because it only allows apps to be installed from the Windows Store; It is streamlined to eliminate RAM and CPU usage; And. -On your PC running Windows 10 in S mode, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

-In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section, be careful not to click the "Go to the Store" link that appears there.)

-On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.
