The Redmi Note 9 series has been launched in many markets including India, but has still not debuted in Xiaomi's home market China. One reason behind this could be the ongoing focus on 5G phones in China. A new leak suggests that the company is looking to launch the Redmi Note 9 5G series in China and the launch date has been stated as 26 November. Apart from 5G connectivity, the phone is expected to see some other differences compared to the Global Redmi Note 9 model. Due to these differences, the Redmi Note 9 5G can be launched as Redmi Note 9T in other global markets including India.

A Chinese tipster has shared a poster on Weibo, suggesting that the Redmi Note 9 5G series will launch in China on 26 November. The poster states that the launch event will begin at 8 pm local time. Redmi has not yet officially confirmed the event. In a previous report, there was news of the company organizing a launch on 24 November.
Apart from this, Redmi Note 9 5G is reported to be launched in the global market as Redmi Note 9T. The Redmi Note 9T model has been spotted on the certification site (via tipster Mukul Sharma) of Malaysia's SIRIM (Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia), a gesture of its launch in several Asian markets. The IMEI number for the Redmi Note 9T is also reportedly registered with the C-DOT CEIR IMEI verification, which means that the phone will come in the Indian market along with other regions.
The previous report claimed that the Redmi Note 95G can be launched at 1,000 Chinese yuan (about Rs 11,300), while the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will be priced at 1,500 Chinese yuan (about Rs 17,000).
The Redmi Note 9 5G with model number M2007J22C was recently revealed on TENAA. The phone is expected to come with 6.53-inch full-HD + IPS display, MediaTek Dimension 800U chipset, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Apart from this, the listing suggests that the Redmi Note 9 5G will have a 48-megapixel primary sensor.
