The password '123456' has been the most used password in 2020 and has been hacked more than 23 million times. Password manager NordPass has given this information in the annual report. The password has reportedly been used by millions of people and takes less than a second to break. The list reveals the 200 worst passwords of the year as well as information about how often they have been breached, used, and how long it takes them to breech. '123456789' comes in second place, while 'picture 1' is in third place.

In 2015, a report from a software firm showed that '123456' was first in the list of worst passwords that year, followed by 'password' on the second. Not much has changed even after five years. Now according to the latest report by NordPass, '123456' is the most used password this year and 'password' comes in fourth place.

The top 20 most commonly used passwords starting from the top are '123456', '123456789', 'picture1', 'password', '12345678', '111111', '123123', '12345', '1234567890' , 'sneha', '1234567', 'qwerty', 'abc123', 'Million2', '000000', '1234', 'iloveyou', 'aaron431', 'password1' and 'qqww1122'. According to the report, most of these take less than a second to crack.
According to categories, commonly used passwords were also revealed. ‘Aaron431’ was the most commonly used name in passwords this year, with over 90,000 users, while ‘chocolate’ was the most used food name with 21,409 users. The name 'pokemon' was used by over 37,000 users, making it the most used entertainment term. 'iloveyou' ranked 17th in the list of commonly used passwords.
